    Course Description
IUI is a first-line treatment option for many infertile couples, worldwide. IUI with ovarian stimulation remains a safe, cheaper, patient-friendly, and non-inferior alternative to IVF in the management of couples with unexplained and mild male factor infertility. It also offers particular advantages such as the minimal infrastructure and equipment requirement, an easy technique to learn, and being less invasive with a reduced psychological burden on the couple when compared to IVF/ICSI. IUI also has better patient compliance with a lower dropout rate. This IUI workshop is a comprehensive training program designed to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the IUI procedure and its application in fertility treatment. Learning Objectives:The course aims to give insight on
  • S – selection Participants will gain knowledge of appropriate indications for IUI, the selection criteria for patients, factors that may affect success rate, and male factor evaluation.
  • M- monitoring and ovulation Induction. Participants will learn how to individualize ovulation induction protocols based on the patient's unique characteristics, medical history, and response to previous treatments. Participants will understand different methods of ovulation inductions and understand to customize ovulation regimes to optimize successful outcomes. Also, they will learn about methods for monitoring the ovulation cycle, the physiology behind the growing follicles and endometrium, and IUI's accurate timing followed by luteal support.
  • A- analysis Participants will gain insight into the success rate of IUI and the factors that can affect outcomes. They will be educated about the potential risks and complications associated with IUI and how to minimize them. They will be equipped with problem-solving skills to address and optimize the success of the IUI procedure.

Course description - Sexual medicine is a branch which is often not taught and talked about. It’s the most under-explored subject of reproductive endocrinology. Our basic medical syllabus lacks teaching regarding identification and treatment of various sexual dysfunctions and sexual problems. We gynaecologist are first person of contact for patients who have any sexual problems. Around 30-35% of sub-fertile couples have subtle to major coital issues both in male & female, & very often they are even unaware of normal sexual functions.. Usually patients’ feel reluctant about discussing their sexual problems with doctors, as it’s still a considered a stigma in our country. Ironically, the main reason for most of the gynaecologists & infertility specialists not enquiring about a couples’ sexual problems is that we are ourselves not much aware of solutions to help them. This workshop is a sincere effort to give basic knowledge of identification and treatment of various sexual dysfunctions so as to reduce the sufferings of our patient due to sexual problems. More importantly, the workshop is meant to create intrest amongst practitioners to learn sexual medicine & to put into practice whatever is learnt from the workshop. So it is very important for us to treat sexual dysfunction and prevent quackery.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES- This course is aimed to give an update on
  • 1. Identification and treatment of common female sexual dysfunctions and male sexual dysfunctions.
  • 2. Sexual dysfunctions associated with infertility, pregnancy and post-partum.
  • 3. Myths and facts in sexual dysfunctions.
  • 4. Adolescent sexuality and sexuality educations.
  • 5. Importance of Pre-marital counselling on sexual practices.
  • 6. Sexuality in special situations like cancer patients, menopause etc.
  • 7. To learn basic sexual therapies like CBT, sensate focus therapy, couple therapy
  • 8. Recent updates in sexual dysfunctions(including cosmetic gynaecolgy)
  • EXPECTED OUTCOME- At the end of the course, participants should have basic knowledge to counsel & manage sexual problems.
TARGET AUDIENCE Gynaecologists, IVF specialists, physicians, surgeons, psychiatrists and general practitioners.
